E mais uma vez Roarke e Eve me deixam sem fôlego! Ai gente, nem sei direito o que dizer. Eles são lindos juntos, como Roarke mesmo diz,’ duas almas perdidas que se encontraram juntas’. Lindo , lindo, lindooo !!!!
Tá divaguei um pouco, já que o livro não é sobre uma história de amor. Nesse livro Eve se vê diante de uma assassina que ela ajudou a prender alguns anos antes, quando ainda era detetive e pupila de Feeney. Agora Juliana está de volta , liberada por bom comportamento( mal eles sabem ...), e quer se vingar de Eve, pois esta não deu o valor que Juliana acha ter merecido pelos assassinatos que a condenaram. Por isso Julianna começa a envenenar pessoas importantes, e idosas, mas esse último detalhe é só pra tentar confundir Eve, já que o principal objetivo dela é matar Roarke.
Durante a investigação Eve precisa viajar a Dallas, cidade que esconde seu passado(pra quem não sabe, Eve foi encontrada em um beco quando tinha 8 anos. Estava com o braço quebrado e não lembrava de nada, nem de seu nome). Junto com Roarke ela vai até os lugares por onde passou para relembrar o que aconteceu com ela quando ainda tinha 8 anos (é bom que os livros anteriores sejam lidos, pois você vai descobrindo, pouco a pouco, junto com Eve o que aconteceu no passado dela, até chegar a esse livro e descobrir toda a verdade).
Foi uma cena horrível de triste. Eu chorei enquanto lia. Depois de muitos livros lidos sua imaginação consegue projetar as imagens como se fossem reais, e enquanto eu ia lendo as imagens iam se formando na minha cabeça e era tão, tão triste. O fato de Roarke estar presenciando e não poder fazer nada por sua amada, simplesmente assistir e esperar ela passar por tudo aquilo foi muito triste também.Fiquei com pena dos dois, como se eles fossem de carne e osso mesmo, não apenas personagens. Mas acho que é esse o objetivo dos bons livros:que quando as pessoas estiverem lendo achem que tudo aquilo é real, ou poderia ser real, e vivenciem os mesmos sentimentos dos personagens.
Enfim, como mais um livro da série mortal, eu adorei. As perseguições, investigações, cenas românticas e os dramas são perfeitos.Nota 10!

In this book Eve is faced with a killer she helped arrest some years earlier, when he was a detective and pupil of Feeney. Now Julianna Dunne is back, released for good behavior (they barely know ...), and wants revenge on Eve, because she failed to provide the value that Juliane thinks she deserved for her murders. So Julianna begins to give poison to old important people, but age is just to try to confuse Eve, since the main objective is to kill Roarke.
During the investigation Eve must travel to Dallas, who hides her past (for those who do not know, Eve was found in an alley when he was 8 years old. He had a broken arm and did not remember anything, not even her name). Along with Roarke she goes to the alley she was founded too many years ago to remember what happened to her when she was 8 years (it's good that the previous books to be read, as you will discover, bit by bit, along with Eve what happened in the past her in reaching this book and discover the whole truth).
It was a horrific scene of sad. I cried while reading. After many books read your imagination can project the images as if they were real, and while I was reading the images would be formed in my head and was so, so sad. The fact that Roarke was seeing and could not do anything for his beloved, just watch and wait for her to get through it was very sad too . I felt sorrythe them, as if they were the same flesh and blood as me, not just characters. But I think that is the goal of good books: that when people are reading they think that all that is real, or it could be real, and to experience the same feelings of the characters.
Anyway, as another book in the series , I loved it. The pursuits, investigations, and romantic and drama scenes are perfect.
